News of Blockbuster’s decision to go national with Blu-ray but not HD-DVD has dominated the format war websites.  Blu-ray supporters are calling this the end of the format war and declare the Blu-ray the victor.  This article posted on DVD Dossier supports their beliefs as well.  Thieves broke into a Seattle based music and movie store and stole $7000 worth of high-definition movies.  Steve Batt, a vice president for an independent retailer call Silver Platters with four stores in the Seattle area has been quoted saying:

“They seemed to know what they wanted. They basically took our whole Blu-ray section… genre didn’t matter to them.”

DVD Dossier confirmed this by calling the store.  When they asked if they sold HD-DVDs as well they were told that the store still had a “good collection” of HD-DVDs as none were taken.
